Kainos is free, open-source Windows SDR software for the Hermes Lite 2, combining radio controls with digital modes, spotting, and KiwiSDR listening.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-15 issue.

For: Hermes Lite 2 amateur-radio operators
Worth noticing: The installer can offer to copy Thetis databases, meters, skins, and cmASIO settings without touching the existing Thetis installation.

Field notes

The page says first launch can offer to copy Thetis databases, meters, skins, and cmASIO settings, while keeping the existing Thetis installation untouched. It also says Kainos identifies itself as Thetis to TCI and TCP CAT clients, a stated compatibility measure for logging and contest software; the extract does not independently test that behavior.
