- For
- Japanese popular-music history and chart enthusiasts
- Worth noticing
- The creator says the 1965–67 weekly rankings were reconstructed from monthly sources and are of very limited accuracy.
Field notes
The creator traces the project to a long-running interest in countdown charts, then describes searching libraries, second-hand bookshops, newspapers, and music magazines for historical material. The year index distinguishes published pages from years still in preparation, and the homepage updates show recent additions, including 1978.
