DropShift is a DAW plugin that shifts whole guitar chords down by one to seven semitones or an octave, without retuning the strings.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-16 issue.

For: Guitarists working in a DAW
Worth noticing: The free demo includes every control, but adds soft noise for 3 seconds of every 20 until a license key is entered.

Field notes

The four modes are positioned for different jobs: LIVE prioritizes quick pick response, while STUDIO and HQ add reported latency compensation for recording or mixing. The page lists support for Windows 10/11 and macOS 10.15 or newer, and says the demo exposes all controls but adds soft noise for three seconds in every twenty until a key is entered.
