CMSN: Claude Code in a Messenger window
A $6.99 Mac app puts Claude Code sessions in an early-2000s Messenger-style chat interface.
- For
- Mac users running Claude Code across multiple sessions
- Worth noticing
- The window can be sized from 640 × 480 to 1600 × 1200, echoing Windows XP display settings.
Field notes
CMSN launches the user's installed `claude` process in a local terminal-backed setup, so existing Claude Code settings, plugins, MCP servers and account plan remain in play. Its session list can be pinned, renamed and reordered; the toolbar exposes slash commands, model selection and usage limits, while alerts include sounds, Dock badges and approval prompts. The developer says code and conversations stay on the Mac, and notes that distribution is through Gumroad because the app needs access to project folders unavailable to sandboxed Mac App Store apps.
