Credibility concern recorded. The source reference remains available for verification and correction.
An open-source, in-browser tool that fills gaps in a map from related layers, labels measured and predicted pixels, and assigns uncertainty to predictions.
- For
- Researchers and analysts working with incomplete survey grids
- Worth noticing
- Its evaluation reports a 6.2% median relative error across 30 fixed simulated skies; a separate footprint test covers 40 skies.
Field notes
The interactive plate starts with a fictional sky whose truth is known; readers can change its seed, coverage, and residual glow, then compare measured, filled, uncertainty, and error views. For validation, gapmap hides measured blocks and compares its predictions with known truth: the page reports a 6.2% median relative error across 30 fixed simulated skies, and separately describes a footprint test across 40 skies. CSV inputs are processed in the browser, according to the page; the token-market fields remain blank.
