GeoPhoto maps the photos a trip left untagged
A Windows app for placing photos on a map by hand or matching them to a GPX track, then saving location metadata to the files.
- For
- Photographers sorting location data after a trip
- Worth noticing
- The free tier saves locations for up to 50 photos; the paid license covers unlimited photos on three computers.
Field notes
GeoPhoto supports manual placement on a map and matching image timestamps to a GPX track after a camera-clock offset is set. Changes are staged for review; the page says the app preserves an original before first modification, reads writes back for verification, and keeps per-photo edit history with staged restores. It says photo files and EXIF data stay on the computer, though map tiles, place searches, update checks, and route requests use online services.
