Hisham Nuhu’s flood-risk fieldwork
An independent flood-risk specialist’s portfolio of modelling, project appraisal, finance, warning, and community-engagement work in Ghana and the UK.
- For
- Councils, ministries, and flood-risk project teams
- Worth noticing
- The Ghana page labels its national decision-support view a 2025–26 prototype for ministries and task teams, with all 260 districts ranked.
Field notes
The portfolio arranges flood-risk work as six stages: understand, plan, finance, deliver, warn, and adapt, with examples attached to each. At Hamstall Ridware, it describes river-flow estimates, a linked 1D–2D model built with an Environment Agency colleague, and a self-initiated appraisal in which an earth bund produced benefits about 4.6 times its cost on a standard basis; the page explicitly says this was not a formal Environment Agency submission. It also labels the Ghana ranking view a prototype.
