Kite’s desktop circuit-board printer
Kite is developing a desktop printer intended to make multilayer circuit boards by printing ceramic and silver pastes together, then firing them.
- For
- Electronics makers, schools, businesses, and labs
- Worth noticing
- The page says no working fired multilayer board has been demonstrated; the example 555 blinker’s printed materials are still unqualified.
Field notes
The proposed workflow deposits ceramic paste for each layer and silver paste for traces and vias, then fires the stack at a target range of about 850–900 °C before components are soldered on. The page uses a 5 V 555 LED blinker as an example, but says its printed materials are unqualified and that no working fired multilayer board has yet been demonstrated. Its comparison table presents about a day as a target turnaround, while costs, yield, and final machine price remain unsettled.
