Windsplit: race-day wind, weather and pacing
A free race-planning tool that combines course elevation and weather with wind estimates to calculate finish times and even-effort splits.
- For
- Runners planning marathon race-day pacing
- Worth noticing
- Users can choose how much shelter drafting provides, and the tool applies that reduction only to headwind on the portion where they expect cover.
Field notes
The share-plan link carries the selected race, pace, heat sensitivity, weight and drafting choice; the recipient gets fresh numbers rather than the sender’s forecast. Users can upload multiple GPX courses, while a separate submission path says course data is stored without time and heart-rate information and that library additions are reviewed. Aid-station and gel locations are marked approximate because course kilometre marks come from the GPS track.
