LightDey: a neighbourhood power diary
A community tool for reporting grid-power status by area, keeping a private outage diary, and sharing weekly check-in receipts.
- For
- People tracking grid power in their neighbourhood
- Worth noticing
- Its weekly receipts count check-ins, not hours of electricity; confidence labels use report recency and agreement.
Field notes
Visitors choose an area and submit whether grid power is available, with optional street or estate and change-time details; generator and inverter reports are explicitly excluded. Current status uses one latest report per browser and area from the previous 60 minutes, with separate agreement and recency thresholds for its confidence labels. Weekly receipts count check-ins rather than hours of electricity, while the outage diary is stored only in the current browser and does not sync.
