Walkarium: an aquarium of city walks
A map-led collection of narration-free walking videos lets visitors browse cities, start a random video, or move from one city video to another.
- For
- People seeking ambient city footage or travel previews
- Worth noticing
- Saved cities stay in the browser; map pins mark representative city or district points, not exact filming locations.
Field notes
The interface offers globe and flat-map modes, region filters, city lists, random selection, and manual or end-of-video progression; saved places are stored in the current browser. Its location taxonomy references UN M49, while some place names and coordinates draw on registered place data and GeoNames; the site cautions that video candidates come from public descriptions, not full-video review, and map pins are representative rather than filming coordinates.
