rig-c turns layered character art into validated rigs
A command-line toolchain that turns a layered character painting into Spine 4.3 skeleton data and a model playable in a web page.
- For
- Developers building agent-authored 2D character rigs
- Worth noticing
- The default Spine profile gates output on 36 named assertions; the opt-in rig-play profile raises that to 50.
Field notes
Parts combines two See-through layer sets and can draft weighted meshes, bone chains, physics, and a looping idle; Pose cleans and retargets body-18 pose sequences from video, datasets, or hand-placed points. Core emits Spine 4.3 skeleton data plus skeleton.model.json, while Review offers a local workspace for comparing geometry, playback, and source material and attaching feedback to a frame, bone, or slot. The page says the toolchain runs on CPU and ships no model weights; image generation is outside its scope.
