PlayGuard puts Nintendo Switch parental controls on the console
PlayGuard lets users set play-time limits, restrictions, and a PIN directly on a modded Nintendo Switch, without the phone app or an internet connection.
- For
- Parents managing a modded Nintendo Switch
- Worth noticing
- A browser simulator exposes console states including locked, unlocked, and limit-reached before installation.
Field notes
The interface writes settings into the Switch’s own restricted parental-control service; the project says limits and suspension continue after PlayGuard closes, with no background process. It includes a browser simulator for exploring console states, plus activity exports in CSV, JSON, XLSX, or PDF. Installation requires Atmosphère custom firmware, and firmware versions the tool does not yet recognize are opened read-only; the site also warns that some operations use debug commands.
