Shape Packing Optimizer brings nesting into the browser
A browser-based tool for fitting mixed shapes into containers, checking whether they fit, or finding how many can fit.
- For
- People arranging mixed shapes for CAD or fabrication
- Worth noticing
- Results include dimensioned drawings and piece-centre coordinates, with CSV export for CAD, laser cutting, or CNC nesting.
Field notes
Users choose a goal—minimize a container, test an exact size, or fit as many pieces as possible—then configure mixed circles, rectangles, ellipses, and regular polygons. The search combines repeated numerical attempts with row and lattice layouts; each displayed arrangement is checked for overlap and containment. Results include dimensions plus each piece’s centre and rotation, and coordinates can be copied or exported as CSV. Saved runs stay in the browser; the page says entered data is not uploaded.
