TapWheel puts file tools under your cursor
A Windows 10 and 11 utility that brings file conversion, editing, and management actions to a keyboard-triggered wheel while you drag a file.
- For
- Windows users handling mixed file types
- Worth noticing
- The wheel opens only for the file being dragged; Shift, Ctrl and Alt expose different tool sets, with results appearing on a card.
Field notes
TapWheel divides actions across Shift (conversion), Ctrl (file-specific tools) and Alt (file actions); the wheel filters options for the dragged item and paginates beyond eight. Its sample windows are not equivalent demos for every media type: image examples are generated in-browser, while video, audio and archive windows describe what the installed app would save. The site links to the Microsoft Store, a developer ZIP, GitHub, releases and a public version-by-version plan.
