MicroSnap: a microscope game for pond life
Anunad Studio is an independent creative studio whose first project, MicroSnap, is an in-development game about exploring pond water through a simulated microscope.
- For
- Players curious about pond life and microscopy
- Worth noticing
- The site pairs a 40-oscillator Kuramoto demonstration with a planned pond-life microscope game.
Field notes
Anunad’s site also contains an interactive Kuramoto-style demonstration: forty oscillators move independently until coupling pulls them into sync, with a slider showing the threshold and a “Scatter them” control. For MicroSnap, the studio says its 51 species draw on published measurements; it describes behaviors such as Vorticella’s rapid stalk contraction and plans to pair organisms with real micrographs and naturalists’ words. The game is listed as in development, Android first.
