Quilt Finish Plan: a buy-only-what-you-need calculator
A free browser-based planner estimates backing, batting and binding needs, then makes a shopping list of what’s missing.
- For
- Quilters planning backing, batting, and binding purchases
- Worth noticing
- It counts existing stock only when one continuous piece covers the full requirement; smaller pieces are not subtracted from the purchase.
Field notes
The planner asks for quilt-top dimensions, side allowances, seam allowances, and binding-strip details before checking existing pieces. Its stock check is deliberately conservative: it uses one continuous rectangle per material and leaves smaller pieces out of the purchase calculation. Estimates do not include shrinkage or pattern repeats, and the page advises confirming usable widths and quilting allowances before cutting. Saved plans stay in the browser and have no cloud backup.
