Leftover Tag Alerts watches for returned hunting tags
A free-during-launch alert service lets big-game hunters choose states and species and get notified when leftover, returned, or reissued tags become available.
- For
- Big-game hunters tracking returned or leftover tags
- Worth noticing
- The homepage says it monitors 16 lists across 14 states, with checks as often as every 15 minutes.
Field notes
The monitored sources vary by state: Colorado includes a leftover-license list and weekly reissue preview, Idaho includes returned-tag sales and unclaimed controlled-hunt tags, and Iowa includes real-time license quotas. The page separately names states with no public list it can watch yet, so the all-states selector does not mean every state currently has monitored inventory. It says tags are purchased from state license sites, not through the service.
