- For
- Mac owners accessing their computers from other devices
- Worth noticing
- New devices pair through a one-use code that expires after two minutes, with approval on the Mac.
Field notes
The Mac host runs as a menu-bar app and listens only while “Accepting connections” is enabled. Pairing codes work once and expire after two minutes; the host displays a device name and fingerprint for approval. For locked Macs, the site says Punte carries macOS's own Screen Sharing sign-in through the encrypted connection. It also lists resolution selection, HEVC/H.264 video, clipboard transfer, sound, and keyboard-layout handling.
