modelrailsim’s DCC Sniffer
A storefront for a model-railroad simulator’s hardware, apparel and account credits, led by a DCC dongle intended to connect real-throttle use to the simulator.
- For
- Model railroaders planning layouts or using DCC throttles
- Worth noticing
- The sniffer is listen-only; screen-to-rail control requires a separate NCE USB Interface or Digitrax PR4.
Field notes
The simulator navigation links to a Layout Designer using real pieces from 39 track systems, plus a room-planning feature that says it checks aisles beneath the layout. The sniffer description lists five DCC systems and specifies that it only carries commands from the handset to the screen; a separate interface is needed for the reverse direction. Store terms say apparel is made to order and damaged or misprinted items can be reported within 30 days.
