WolfRender: Office rendering with a loss report
A command-line renderer for Office documents and PDFs that produces PDFs or page images and reports detected rendering losses.
- For
- Teams replacing LibreOffice-based document rendering
- Worth noticing
- An error-level loss marks the output partial and makes `wolf render` exit with status 1.
Field notes
The command accepts DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF, ODT/ODS/ODP, and legacy DOC/XLS/PPT, with output formats including PDF, PNG, SVG, JPEG, TIFF, and BMP. Its compatibility shims can sit ahead of existing `soffice` and Poppler commands on PATH; unsupported command forms fail with a named error rather than falling back to installed binaries. The comparison uses 42 DOCX, 51 PPTX, and 39 XLSX files and is explicitly described as a regression benchmark, not a blind test.
