Orbit is a Mac app that puts music, messages, live scores, flight tracking, timers, file handling, and games in the space around a MacBook’s notch.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-29 issue.

For: MacBook owners who want glanceable controls and small utilities
Worth noticing: The beta requires Apple silicon and macOS 14.6 or later; Macs without a notch get a floating island instead.

Field notes

The page groups several different jobs into a configurable Smart Stack, including media controls, messages, sports and flight updates, focus sessions, and file actions. It also provides browser-based previews of selected effects and games. The listed Mac requirements are Apple silicon and macOS 14.6 or later; the page says other Macs receive a floating island rather than a notch-specific interface.
