Fish Zone puts the fishing rules on the map
A Latvia-and-Lithuania fishing app combines species rules, allowed-water maps, depth charts, station readings, catch reports and hourly bite forecasts.
- For
- Anglers and spearfishers in Latvia and Lithuania
- Worth noticing
- The hourly forecast lets users drag through the day to see how each species’ activity score and its stated reasons change.
Field notes
The map is presented as seven switchable layers: spearfishing zones, restrictions, recent catch reports, personal marks, OpenStreetMap slipways, depth contours and station temperatures. Fish Zone says its 75+ contour charts are licensed from Baltic Depth Maps and its 170+ temperature readings come from hydrological stations in Latvia and Lithuania; the forecast example combines weather credited to MET Norway with water-temperature data from LVĢMC.
