Cord of Firewood’s Cord Calculator
A practical calculator estimates how much firewood is in one or more stacks, with conversions for cords and face cords and optional price and burn-time checks.
- For
- People measuring or buying firewood
- Worth noticing
- It treats “rick” as seller-defined and recommends photographing a tape measure against the delivery before moving the wood.
Field notes
The measurement guidance distinguishes a neat stack from a loose heap: users can switch pile type, choose piece length, and add separate stacks rather than including the gap between them. The page says volume is the checkable measure because split size, species, and moisture can change piece counts and weight. Its regional price references include several named locations, while its cited material includes NIST and university extension sources.
