Poltergate: remote hands for every iPhone
Poltergate pairs a small dongle with an iPhone app to put the phone’s live screen and controls in a browser, through an API, or—eventually—in plain-language AI tasks.
- For
- Teams managing or testing multiple iPhones
- Worth noticing
- The dongle presents itself to iPhone as a mouse and keyboard; the plain-language AI task feature is marked “Coming soon.”
Field notes
Setup starts by choosing Wi-Fi from a list in the companion app over Bluetooth, then installing Poltergate from the App Store and scanning a dashboard code. The page describes browser control, synchronized actions across phones, REST access with a one-file Python client, and recovery if a screen stops. It reports 30 fps H.264 video and roughly 110 ms live-video latency; ordering remains unavailable while the first batch is being made.
