Editorial interest 88/100 Selection signal · not a rating of the site

Redivivus reconstructs Diablo II: Lord of Destruction 1.14d’s shipped Game.exe as C++ source that compiles, links, and runs as d2.exe.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-31 issue.
For
Diablo II preservationists and reverse-engineering developers
Worth noticing
The project reports 38.4% of functions byte-identical to 1.14d; Battle.net remains unsupported and some areas still crash.

Field notes

The reconstruction pipeline uses Ghidra databases as its source of names, types, and calling conventions, then routes decompiler output through a C++ syntax-tree cleanup step. The generated tree is divided into familiar modules such as D2Client, D2Game, D2Common, Storm, and Fog. The repository omits game data, so a local run depends on an existing Diablo II: Lord of Destruction 1.14 installation.
