ConfereRef checks the paper’s references
A browser-based checker compares an article’s citations with its reference list and can optionally check whether listed works exist in Crossref.
- For
- Researchers checking citations and reference lists
- Worth noticing
- It reads .docx files locally; the optional Crossref lookup sends only the reference text.
Field notes
Users can upload a .docx or paste the article text; the reference section must begin under a standalone heading such as “References,” “Bibliography,” or “Works cited.” The interface offers distinct parsing choices for author-date styles including APA, ABNT, Harvard, Chicago, and Academy of Management, plus numeric styles such as Vancouver and AMA. It can export the report as Word or CSV; the page says optional existence checks send only reference text to Crossref.
