Field notes
The explorer separates MSDE’s fixed statewide thresholds—75%, 60%, 45%, and 30% of points for two- through five-star ratings—from a peer-comparison view based on student poverty. Its recommended model is labeled 2019 BERC, while alternate controls include OLS residuals, standardized scores, a monotone spline, full student-background inputs, and custom weights. The displayed default covers 1,292 traditional schools, excluding 19 special-education, alternative, and SEED schools.
