In Astris: a camera window on the solar system
Interactive simulated views let visitors explore locations and spacecraft viewpoints around the Moon, Mars, and Saturn.
- For
- Curious skywatchers and solar-system explorers
- Worth noticing
- PNG exports can omit controls and labels while retaining source credits in the file metadata.
Field notes
Visitors can move among a Moon south-pole view, Mars locations, Saturn, and spacecraft-related viewpoints, then adjust the displayed UTC time and playback step. Camera controls include telescope and naked-eye views, terrain or imagery grades, daylight adjustment, labels, and tracking; exported PNGs can omit controls and labels, with source credits retained in file metadata. The page cautions that the small-system orbit diagram uses approximate JPL elements and illustrative spacing and symbol sizes.
