Plateau Hearts turns Montréal arguments into RPG battles
A work-in-progress browser RPG sends players on three walks from NDG to Mount Royal, where arguments are fought with replies built around kindness.
- For
- Players drawn to narrative RPGs and Montréal
- Worth noticing
- The site says running down an opponent’s “Fight left” means they stopped pushing—not that they agreed or were right.
Field notes
The battle loop assigns each opponent one of four authored pressures—Pushing, Judging, Dodging the question, or a Guilt trip—and gives the player four corresponding replies. A reply is struck on the beat as a volleyball-like note; its Earth, Fire, Wind, or Water element is explicitly described as visual language, not a damage chart. If Heat rises high enough, the exchange shifts to written lines; the site says these are authored in advance.
