Field notes
The homepage describes rankings built from state wildlife-agency harvest reports, current season dates, USGS land-cover and elevation maps, and public-land share. Visitors can narrow results by species, month, weapon, habitat, and access preferences, then review harvest history, season dates, and license notes. Coverage varies by state and species: some bird hunts are ranked by county, and the site specifically says North Dakota deer harvest by unit is estimated.
