Field notes
The homepage separates reported analysis, resident letters, cartoons, local-history features, and an Exchange linking coverage from another local outlet. Its fiscal reporting says it draws on records already published by the New York State Comptroller, the school district, and the State Education Department, without requiring a Freedom of Information request. Letters are accepted by name, reviewed by a person, held at least three days, and released in weekly batches.
