LearnRAM’s component-by-component memory-stick workshop
A hands-on learning site for building DDR4 and DDR5 memory sticks, with board guides, soldering instructions, sourcing advice, and multimeter tests.
- For
- DIY memory builders and electronics learners
- Worth noticing
- The sourcing guide says one dead donor chip can still leave seven usable ones, and flags sanded or uneven markings as reasons to reject a lot.
Field notes
The board explorer uses photographs of DDR4 and DDR5 modules, with selectable overlays for power, data, command and clock, and management-bus connections. Its multimeter section marks red and black probe positions and contrasts good and bad readings. The page cautions that its overlays do not trace actual inner-layer copper and recommends the relevant JEDEC pinout for exact pin numbers; its chip-sourcing advice also tells buyers to inspect seller ratings, photos, and date codes.
