- For
- Folklore fans and speculative natural-history readers
- Worth noticing
- Its nine orders include named body plans such as Bird-forms and Veiled Ones, with species entries in English, Latin-style names and Japanese.
Field notes
The taxonomy starts with body plans and narrows to families defined by visible traits; the first listed species in each family serves as its type. Entries use numbered names, Latin-style binomials and Japanese names. The fictional director’s profile supplies an in-world authority, naming a study of vessel spirits and a twelve-volume illustrated work.
