- For
- Neighbors competing in a weekly birding league
- Worth noticing
- Merlin rarity points depend on the entrant’s area; sound-only birds get half rarity points, rounded down, before bonuses.
Field notes
The scoring system combines location-specific Merlin rarity with bonuses for a lifer, a species no other player entered that week, birds of prey, sightings outside Arizona, and birds shown eating. The page lists Saturday at 11:59 pm as the deadline and says standings update after it; the 2026 champion’s reward remains undecided.
