Nookiva offers interactive, illustrated desktop worlds for macOS, from koi ponds to falling snow.

Landing page captured for the 2026-11-04 issue.

For: Mac users who want an animated desktop
Worth noticing: The page says worlds pause when covered and use about 5% of the processor while visible.

Field notes

The page describes menu-bar controls for switching worlds and a play mode that can be toggled with ⌘I. Koi Pond includes several cursor interactions: clicking drops food, holding floats a lily, and dragging skips a pebble. The site lists four free worlds and says a Pro purchase unlocks all 13; it also offers a browser preview without installation.
