Comorbid Atlas’s hEDS–POTS–MCAS explorer
A research prototype lets clinicians explore how symptom evidence may shift estimates of comorbidity among hEDS, POTS, and MCAS.
- For
- Clinicians assessing comorbidity in patients with an existing diagnosis
- Worth noticing
- Symptom absence or non-assessment leaves the estimate unchanged; the source analysis models symptom presence only.
Field notes
The interface begins with one independently established diagnosis, then lets a user choose the comorbidity under review and mark symptom presence. It displays a pooled prior, a tempered Bayesian update (λ=0.5), a naive λ=1 sensitivity upper bound, and sensitivity to λ. Symptom absence or non-assessment leaves estimates unchanged because the source analysis models symptom presence only. The analysis covers 22 published cohorts, 19 in its primary analysis, and screens 104 evaluable symptom-by-direction combinations.
