The page lays out separate release rules for Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, and Indiana, including differences in lead time and clock time. Its Boundary Waters section applies the stated last-Wednesday-in-January rule to estimate the 2027 permit opening, while explicitly noting that the date has not been announced. The site says its reminders cover major openings and agency rule changes, and directs visitors to make reservations on official booking sites.
