- For
- Music producers seeking vintage-style compression
- Worth noticing
- The ME-30 gate freezes gain below threshold, preventing noise from swelling between phrases.
Field notes
The ME-30 description lays out three inputs with individual lo-cut switches, a gate that holds gain below threshold, and a response control ranging from fast to slow. The mbx 165A adds Auto timing and a separate peak ceiling; its stereo coupler is described for bus work. The page lists VST3 and AU formats and says updates are free for life.
