Field notes
The account says Fan left Chengdu in July 1935 for a ten-month, more-than-10,000-li reporting journey, combining geographical observation with accounts of local livelihoods and political conditions. It then follows his reporting on the Xi’an Incident and Yan’an, his work with 24 colleagues to establish a journalists’ association in 1937, and later wartime reporting; the page pairs these episodes with newspaper images, photographs, a route map, and a letter interaction.
