Fallrett’s map of Norway’s hydropower rights
Fallrett lets visitors look up a Norwegian property and estimate the annual rent it might receive under a voluntary hydropower-rights lease.
- For
- Norwegian landowners near hydropower plants
- Worth noticing
- The map cannot distinguish rights that were expropriated, sold, leased, or may still belong to the landowner.
Field notes
The map lets users search by farm-and-use number, watercourse, or municipality, or zoom and click a property. Its estimate allocates fall height along the river and draws on NVE power-plant data, Kartverket terrain data, and the property register; electricity price and lease percentage can be changed. The site says calculations use AI and warns that boundaries, ownership, and inputs may be wrong. It cannot tell whether a right was expropriated, sold, leased, or still belongs to the landowner.
