Datapavan, an Android app audit label
Datapavan checks Android apps’ permissions, known code trackers, VPN signing keys, and data use on the phone itself.
- For
- Android users auditing app permissions and data use
- Worth noticing
- Tracker matching uses the Exodus list and a project-maintained SDK list; renamed or hidden code can evade detection.
Field notes
Datapavan reads installed-app permissions and special access, app code, VPN-app signing keys, Android per-app data counters, and selected phone security settings. Tracker checks match names against the Exodus tracker list and a project-maintained SDK list; renamed, obfuscated, or later-loaded code can evade them, and the page explicitly warns that an empty result is not proof of absence. Usage access is optional for data totals and identifying apps unused for 90 days.
