Why it surfaced

Groove Lab lets musicians build a whole piece into one click track, including meter changes, tempo curves, repeats, and weighted groupings such as 2+2+3. It was made by Nick Mahon, principal trombone of the Orchestre symphonique de Québec, and costs $2.99 with no ads, subscription, account, or internet connection required.
