A nonprofit research project studying fungal disease, drug resistance, and open methods for discovering antifungal medicines.

Why it surfaced

This is unusually specific public-interest science: it explains antifungal resistance through the geometry of a drug binding to the CYP51 enzyme, then describes OpenAFR, an open pipeline tested against Candida auris. The project says it will publish reproducible tools, data, code, and even failed runs for others to inspect.

The Two-Tonne Temperature Problem

August 15’s newborn domains include a live-aboard hydrogen airship with a two-tonne lift problem, a Japanese toolbox that explains its assumptions, an advisory-by-advisory Hawaiʻi hurricane archive, and a wedding-gift game about ungrateful poultry.

This is one of 1,000 discoveries in the 2026-08-15 Domain Arrivals issue.
