A name-frequency tool that searches U.S. Census counts for 156,621 last names and 53,615 first names, then compares them with Social Security birth data.

Why it surfaced

The useful part is its restraint: it explains why rare names disappear from the Census, refuses to invent full-name statistics, and clearly separates living-population counts from birth-year trends. Its figures point back to the 2020 U.S. Census and Social Security Administration datasets rather than presenting a mystery ranking.
