MusicSeed is an open-source, local-first playlist engine that turns a seed track into an explainable mix from a user’s own Plex library.

Why it surfaced

It ranks tracks with six stated signals—including sonic similarity, popularity, style, genre, era, and novelty—while keeping the data in a local SQLite file. The project runs on macOS and Linux, requires no cloud account, and is MIT licensed.
