OpenPianos: a living map for public pianos
OpenPianos maps public pianos around the world, showing recently played locations and inviting people to verify, update, and annotate them.
Why it surfaced
It treats public infrastructure as participatory local history: anyone can report a piano, leave a note, or confirm that it is still there. The project currently lists 18 pianos across seven countries and makes its data public domain, with local ambassadors intended to keep the map from quietly going stale.
