Eleanor, a guardian for a parent’s Facebook messages
Eleanor watches for impersonation, gift-card requests, emergencies, secrecy, and other scam patterns, warning a parent in plain language and alerting a family member when a conversation looks dangerous.
Why it surfaced
This early-access project grows out of its developer’s account of a scammer impersonating his mother’s cousin and taking thousands of dollars. Its privacy promise is unusually concrete: Eleanor says it never stores or shares message content with family, sending alerts about who and why rather than the conversation itself.
