The count uses the practice’s own phone traffic rather than borrowed benchmark data. Staff log every orthopedic post-operative contact, mark whether it occurred after hours, and record orthopedic discharges as the denominator; administrative calls are held out as a control. The page says the eventual readout will show when contacts cluster during recovery, what they concerned, and roughly how much on-call time they consumed.
