Australian Planning combines several government registers rather than treating development as a single dataset. Its NSW layer contains applications lodged since 2019, while the national approvals layer spans 526 councils across all eight states and territories. The site calculates decision-time medians from applications with both lodgement and determination dates, and separates proposed homes from homes recorded as approved. It also provides source and licence information, including a stated CC-BY machine-readable release for its council activity dataset.
